Tribute to John W Highfill. As you are probably aware, we lost one of the NSDR Founders last month. John W Highfill passed on June 15, 2025. In honor of his dedication and service to the NSDR, we have planned a Tribute to John Highfill during the Summer ANA World’s Fair of Money in Oklahoma. This is currently planned for Tuesday Aug 19, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM. We will be providing some light appetizers and drinks. His wife, Marlene is planning to attend as well to share some pics and memories. Let’s get together and mingle and share some stories. The Location is TBD. In addition to losing John, we also lost another longtime NSDR member Jack Copeland who also passed last month as well.
ANA Summer Seminar Scholarships: The NSDR is proud to congratulate our 2025 Scholarship recipients who attended the 2025 ANA Summer Seminar:
– James Westin from Towson MD – YN Recipient (Attended Grading United States Coins PT 2).
– Jennifer Kibbey from Connersville IN – Adult Recipient (Attended Collecting and Investing in Morgan Silver Dollars).
– In addition to the 2025 Scholarship recipients, the 2024 scholarship recipient Samuel Sternberg from Ithaca NY also attended the seminar this year since he could not attend last year.
2025 NSDR Awards Banquet. Our annual banquet was held at Morton’s Steak House during the winter FUN Convention in January and it went very well this year, although still lightly attended compared to pre-Covid participation. With so many other conflicting events during the winter FUN Show, the NSDR Board has voted to move the banquet back to the CSNS show and will be held in April of 2026. Our next banquet will be held at Morton’s Steakhouse in Schamburg Il on Thursday April 23. With this event going back to a Thursday, hopefully participation will increase. Mark your calendars now!
I ask for your continued support for the new NSDR™ Board going forward!
I hope to see you all at the ANA Worlds Fair of Money in Oklahoma as well as other regional shows over the next few months.
Warmly,
Jeff Wuller, NSDR™ President
