In recognition of one of the founders of the NSDR the Lifetime Achievement award was renamed the ‘John W. Highfill Lifetime Achievement Award’ John is a prominent figure in numismatics, particularly known for his expertise in U.S. silver dollars. Here are some of his notable accomplishments: Founder of the National Silver Dollar Roundtable (NSDR): Established in 1982, this non-profit organization promotes education and knowledge about U.S. silver dollars. In 1992, he published The Comprehensive U.S. Silver Dollar Encyclopedia, a monumental 1,200-page resource. An updated edition in 2021 expanded to 2,000 pages. Highfill has been a key contributor to the Numismatics field for over 40 years. He operates the Oklahoma Coin Exchange and has served on the American Numismatic Association Board of Governors. Awards and Recognition: Besides his many awards within the NSDR through the years, in 2021, he received the Q. David Bowers Award from the Central States Numismatic Society, acknowledging his contributions to numismatic education and the broader coin-collecting community. Some interesting trivia about John is prior to entering the numismatic field, Highfill had a career in the music industry, working with stars like Elvis Presley and Donny Osmond. He also successfully traded collectibles like Beanie Babies and Pokémon items. 

This award honors the recipients impressive lifetime contributions to the numismatic community and is given to express our appreciation.
